This wedding.

At the risk of sounding a bit sensational, I'm hopeful that these photographs will suffice in telling the story of a love so wild, rare, & enduring - and of a wedding day so personal and true - all planted squarely in such a sentimental corner of the planet. I'll look back on this day on the beach very fondly for a long time to come.

Here are two of those rare souls who simply make others better by being in their proximity... who have, by some means, found this crazy unstatistical love that doesn't go away and only gets bigger & better & more crazy... who manage to, just by glancing at each other, fling encouragement & happiness & trust in every which direction.

Sometimes it strikes me as a bit inexplicable that my occupation is to strike up a conversation with these types of folks (by a matter of chance I can only describe as grace), then make friends with them, then spend a fair bit of time with them, and then be witness to the happiest day of their lives, all with the goal of telling their story in the best way I know how. Yes, certainly inexplicable. But for it I am terribly grateful. Grateful to have met Jeff & Mollie, to have encountered this love they found and are building, and to have watched them become married.

If there was ever a day when temperatures in the eighties were welcome, the twelfth day of April was it. The wind blew particularly warm and memories of an especially long, especially cold winter were finally made distant. Plans that Ben, Callie, & their families had been making for months & months had found one of the more beautiful days in recent history on which to fall; and, after being combined with some cookies & milk, exceptional friends, and a perfectly choreographed rendition of a particular N Sync song, it couldn't have all come together any better.
